The Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Mizoram is the implementing agency under the Planning & Programme Implementation Department, Govt. of Mizoram tasked with nurturing an environment in which entrepreneurs can innovate and commercialize the results of their creativity, and in which businesses and startups can thrive to create jobs and wealth. This needs a wholistic approch involving convergence among numerous departments and agencies across various sectors. The partner agencies of EDC/PPID in this endeavour are:-




Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Innovation Park


IIMCIP is the ‘Knowledge Partner’ in the Mizoram’s Entrepreneurship Development efforts, by supporting various activities that would encourage, train, recognize and reward budding entrepreneurs of Mizoram, and undertake capacity building among relevant Government Officials, Trainers, Entrepreneurs and others so as to gradually help develop an entrepreneurial culture in the state of Mizoram.

Mizoram University Incubation Centre


EDC has partnered with MZUIC for mentoring of startups that have been discovered through seed funding programmes under the Entrepreneurship Development Scheme such as the Micro Startup Capital Competitions and the Business Plan Contests.

Entrepreneurship Knowledge Cells


EKCs have been set up as satellite centres of EDC at partner institutes in every district. The cells will provide easier access of support, handholding and guidance with assignment of Master trainers and other experts in each cell. The cells will cater to the needs of local entrepreneurs and students by providing soft skill trainings. The principal aim is to develop entrepreneurial flair in students, to make students understand entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial skills and to provide a platform which gives number of outreach and awareness opportunities.
